Provincial series race #6 has come and gone. This was your final chance to improve on your standings before the Grands. The track was in great shape and the weather was almost perfect for the Lethbridge Provincial. As with every Provincial this year, the racing and organization was top notch.

Provincial series race #5 was hosted by Cochrane this past weekend. 370 entries. Good weather with a tricky breeze made racing interesting. As usual all riders came to compete and there were some great races. One more series race left before the Grands.

CBC will be at the track on Tuesday Aug 19 at 2pm. Catriona Lemay-Doan will be doing “stand-ups” (interviews) with people of various ages (riders and parents) who are knowledgeable about BMX, as sport, socially, structurally etc etc.
They want to do a story on “the community of BMX” as a whole and also sensing the tight knit community that we have at Airdrie BMX and Alberta BMX, they will then edit and then show as the preview/introduction to the semis and finals the next day when Sam and Scott get Canada medals.
This is an awsome opportunity for BMX to get some National TV coverage and you just might get to be on TV.

Okotoks has been without a starting gate since early May. This past week they got their new ProGate installed and Steve says it works great! In the pic below are 5 of the original Okotoks members who belonged to the club when they still had a crank up gate. Standing is none other than Bubba Harris who was there for the launch.

The Alberta Summer Games took place down in Medicine Hat and despite temperatures reaching 38 degrees and some flying tents the games were a resounding success. In BMX, ages were combined into 11-12, 13-14 and 15-17 in both Male and Female. With riders representing all 8 zones it made for full gate racing and the winners were decided by overall points after 12 motos spread over 4 races from Friday to Sunday.
