To all Alberta BMX Tracks & their Members, Okotoks BMX would like to thank you for your support once again of this Charity Race. In previous years we have solely taken the credit for our efforts of our charity races, but this time it was meant to be for all of Alberta and it was a HUGE success. Okotoks BMX only played the role this year of organizing the event and finding the charity of choice. Calgary BMX played the role of helping us host it and all the tracks including Calgary and Okotoks participated in the amount of money raised. You truly did an amazing thing.
Just to give you a little background: My family was a recipient of Sunshine Dreams for Kids 4 years ago. My daughter Jessica was given her dream of her and her family going to Disneyland and meet all her favorite characters. To watch the true joy on her face for 5 days without a care in the world was something we as a family will never forget. This organization took care of everything to make sure we had a good time and the only thing we had to do was get on a plane and have the best time ever with many memories that we will cherish forever. So I know first hand what this does for a child who is faced with challenges everyday and I can truly say that you have all done something amazing and you should feel proud to be part of such a great event that will go down in history as the best BMX charity event ever that raised a total amount of $10 317.31. This money will benefit a child in Alberta who's family is in need of the same unforgettable memories.

I will post the information on the family that will receive their dream once I have that information from Sunshine Foundation and we will keep you updated through our website about them and their dream that you helped make happen. Wow...I don't know how they did it but the organizers and officials managed to squeeze in a 360 rider Provincial in between rain showers. A great turnout and somewhat co-operative Mother Nature made Provincial #2 a great success. Results are posted in the POINTS section, standings to date to follow within a couple of days.
